2. DONATION APPOINTMENTS
for donations of any size

Scheduled on Wednesdays & Saturdays

Bring your donation to the Donations door on SE Washington Street next to our roll-up garage door, around the corner from SCRAP's main entrance. and ring the door bell.

Our donation appointments are released on a month-to-month basis. If the donation calendar is blank, it means all appointments are currently full.

3. IN-STORE VIP DONATIONS
for donations of 3 bags of fewer of the following items
during store hours: 

Yarn
Fabric (yardage only, no scraps)
Canvases (new and used)
Sketch Pads
Art Paints (no aerosols or house paint)
Paint Brushes
Jewelry
Beads
Glue (no aerosols)
Tape
National Geographic Magazines

Bring your donation to the front register and ask about our "VIP DONATIONS" area inside SCRAP behind the register where staff will help you to sort them into the appropriate labeled bins.

How To Donate:

Before you Donate:

• Check our lists of Items We Generally Accept and Items We Are Currently NOT Accepting (see above). 
• Organize your items so we can see everything clearly when you drop it off. Bag like items together (ex: corks in one bag, bottlecaps in another). 
• Put your donation in a bag or container that can be left behind.
• Parking is very limited near SCRAP, so plan accordingly. You may need to transport your items on foot for a block or more, so bring a helper or cart if you are donating heavy items.

-If you come to a Drop-in Donation Day (Thurs or Fri, 11am to 1pm):

• Bring your donation of up to 3 grocery bags or 50lbs  to our garage door next to the Donations door on SE Washington Street, around the corner from SCRAP's main entrance.
• Be prepared to wait while we help other donors or while we look through your donation.
• We reserve the right to refuse any partial or full donations for any reason. 
• Tax Receipts are given upon request.

-If you have a Donation Appointment:

• Bring your donation to the Donations door on SE Washington Street next to our roll-up garage door, around the corner from SCRAP's main entrance. and ring the door bell. If you need a cart to transport your donation, we have one available.
• Be prepared to wait while we look through your donation. This could take anywhere from 1-15 minutes depending on the size and organization of your donation, though it typically only takes a few minutes.
• Tax Receipts are automatically emailed out to the email used to create your appointment.

Do Not:

• Leave your donation outside on the sidewalk without talking to a SCRAP staff member. This is considered illegal dumping and it hurts our organization and our community.
• Mail your donation to the store. All donations must be made in person.

• Just Porch it: provides an at-home pick-up service for unwanted textiles and other household items that fit in a bag.

• School supplies, office supplies: Schoolhouse Supplies (503-249-9933), or your favorite school or after-school program

• Packaging materials like styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, and air pockets: Postal Annex
• Styrofoam: Green Century Recycling, Drop-off at: 2950 NW 29th Ave Portland Oregon 97210. The fee is $10 per 45-gallon bag.
• Plastics (clear #1, #2, #4, #5 and #6), plastic utensils, plastic screw-on caps, empty contact lens blister packs (with foil removed): James Recycling Pop-Up Events (971-217-7444)
• Other national recycling programs for specific branded items: Terracycle
• Anything else? Call the Metro Recycling Hotline for advice (503-234-3000).
• Free sites/apps to post your items yourself: BuyNothing, FreeCycle, Freeya, NextDoor, Olio, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Something Borrowed
